Irradiated Colored Diamonds

Irradiated colored diamonds are genuine diamonds that show colors after
being exposed to a strong radiation treatment. The diamonds quickly becomes
inert after the treatment has finished. The diamond is then heated to
effect an overall coloration.

The Truth about Irradiated Diamonds:

  1. Irradiated diamonds do not become radioactive.
  2. Irradiated diamonds are not lab created diamonds, they are natural
    real diamonds
  3. The color will not fade, it penetrates the entire
    diamond

When performing repair work or sizing, the diamond should not be
subject to intense heat, which would cause the color to change. However
the diamond will never lose its overall coloration and become near
colorless again. It is possible to repair or work on a ring successfully
without having to ever heat the diamonds again, which is what we
recommend. If a jeweler or goldsmith works on the ring, and they
are not aware of its irradiation, you should inform them that the
diamonds have been irradiated. That way they can take steps to care
for the color. We will always be happy to perform any repair or sizing
on our rings.
